How these settings work
Most of them are defaults for new property websites. A change applies to properties created after you make it. Existing properties keep their current settings, and you can still change any single property on its own.
Three settings apply to your whole account right away: Disable External Custom Domains, Allow Staff Virtual Staging and AI Description Generator Access.
On/off settings have a button on the right that shows the current value. Click it and choose the other option. It saves immediately. Settings with a list have a Change button that opens a panel. Make your choices there and click Save.
Disable External Custom Domains
Normally your clients can connect their own domain (like 123MainStreet.com) to a property website. If you set this to "External Domains Not Allowed", the Add Custom Domain button is hidden from your clients.
Property websites keep working on their standard web address.
You can still add a custom domain for a client yourself.
Domains that are already connected stay connected.
Why turn it on: Connecting a domain means editing DNS records at the registrar, and that's easy to get wrong. A misconfigured domain makes the listing look broken to buyers, and the client usually comes to you to fix it. Turning it on keeps agents from adding outside domains on their own.
Why leave it off: Some agents buy a vanity domain for each listing to put on signs and print ads.
Allow Staff Virtual Staging
This lets your staff (the support accounts you've added) use Virtual Staging. Every image they stage uses your company's AI Gen credits. Clients never get Virtual Staging from this setting.
Turn it on if your team produces virtual staging for your clients. Leave it off to control how your credits get spent.
Restrict Agent Access
This controls what your clients can do on the property websites you create for them. A checked box blocks that action. Restrictions apply only to your clients, never to you or your full-access staff. To set it, click Change, check what you want to block and click Save.
The options work in two different ways.
Always enforced, even after the client pays:
Disable creating/editing marketing collateral: clients can't create or edit flyers and brochures.
Disable Rela marketing collateral templates: clients only see your custom flyer templates, which keeps your branding consistent.
Disable deleting property images: clients can't remove photos from the gallery, so your delivered work stays protected.
Payment locks, removed automatically when the order for that property is paid in full:
Include watermark on marketing collateral
Disable downloading property images
Disable downloading floor plans
3D Tour Link Access
If a property has no order, these payment locks stay on until you remove them on that property.
"Disable downloading videos" and "Property Publishing" only take effect through an order. If what you want is "nothing downloads until the invoice is paid", set those payment locks in Order Settings > Locked Download Defaults (see Order Settings and Defaults). Use Order Settings for payment locks, and Restrict Agent Access for the always-enforced controls.
Disable Pre-Populate Property Details
When you create a property from an address, Rela looks it up in public listing data. It then fills in the property type, beds, baths, square footage, lot size, year built and a starter description. This setting skips that lookup so the property starts blank. To turn pre-filling off, click the button and choose Enabled. (Here, "Enabled" means pre-filling is off.)
Why turn pre-filling off:
Public data is often out of date. It usually misses renovations, additions and finished basements, so beds, baths or square footage can be wrong. A client might publish those numbers without noticing.
The starter description is generic ("Enjoy the [city] lifestyle... This beautiful home will sell fast!"). If nobody replaces it, that text goes live. It also doesn't suit rentals, land, commercial or new construction.
New construction and off-market homes often have no public record to pull from.
If you mostly deliver media, the property details may not matter at all.
Why leave it on: it gives your clients a head start if they reliably review the details before publishing. Properties created from an MLS number pull from the MLS either way.
Virtual Tour Mode (Cover Slideshow)
This turns the cover photo at the top of the property website into an auto-playing slideshow of the property's photos. There are two styles:
Pan Zoom: each photo slowly zooms and pans.
Fade In-Out: the photos cross-fade with no movement.
Off shows a single cover photo. If a property has a background video, the video plays instead. To set it, click Change, pick a style and click Save. Each property can still switch its Auto-Slideshow on or off from its photo gallery.
Why turn it off:
One strong hero photo often makes a better first impression than motion.
Pan Zoom crops into each photo as it moves, so tightly framed shots can lose their edges.
A static cover loads faster on phones.
Why turn it on: the site feels like a tour from the first second without the client doing anything. It works best when you deliver plenty of strong photos.
